through the eyes of a retiree
This retiree was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal, West Africa. One purpose of the Peace Corps Program is to mutually share skills and cultures with people of other countries. Linda has, since, retired to her country of service, where she will continue some of her projects.
This website is a digital collection of photographs taken during her Peace Corps days, as well as photos taken later during her retirement. These photos were taken during various seasons of the year, and in different locales: north, south, east and west. The photographs depict the diversity in religions, traditions, and culture in Senegal.
Senegalese are known for their 'Teranga' (hospitality). The images were specifically selected to show modern day Senegalese life and activities, in this evolving country.
