Beautiful and Diverse

SENEGAL

through the eyes of a Peace Corps Volunteer

One purpose of the Peace Corps Program is to mutually share skills and cultures with people of other countries. This Peace Corps Volunteer feels that she actually learned more from the Senegalese, than they learned from her.

This website is a digital collection of photographs taken in Senegal, West Africa. They were taken during various seasons of the year, and in different locales: north, south, east and west. The photographs depict the diversity in religions, traditions, and culture in Senegal.

Senegalese are known for their 'Teranga' (hospitality). The images were specifically selected to show modern day Senegalese life and activities, in this beautiful country.
